 P J Tucker-Gap Rating 5/10 Anthony Leon Tucker Junior was born on 5th May 1985 in Raleigh, North Carolina, USA.He was named as a 2004 World Championship For Young Men Qualifying Team finalist on July 18, 2004. He became the first freshman in UT history to record back-to-back double-doubles to start his career. In his collegiate debut, scored 18 points, tying a UT freshman inaguaral outing record, and set a new UT debut record with 13 rebounds versus Brown (11/17/03). His double-double against Brown was the first time a Texas freshman had ever kicked-off his career with a double-double (since freshmen became eligible in 1972-73). Tucker started 16 of 33 games as a freshman in aiding Texas to a 25-8 record, 12-4 mark in Big 12 play, and the 2004 NCAA Sweet Sixteen, averaged a team second best 10.4 ppg. and team high 6.8 rpg., while shooting 54.7 percent from the field. He recorded a team-best six double-doubles in 2003-04. Tucker posted career highs of 27 points and 15 rebounds versus George Washington (12/29/03). He was was nicknamed "Pop Junior" or P.J. for short by his father, Anthony, Sr. He spent his first five years in Frankfurt, Germany, where his father was stationed in the Army. The one historical event he would love to have witnessed is Martin Luther King, Jr.'s "I Have A Dream" speech.
