Stewart Appleby-Gap Rating 4/10
Stewart Appleby was born on 1st May 1971 in Cohuna, Australia.

He is one of the best golf players in the world.

His interest began at an early age, dating back to his childhood on a dairy farm, where he used to hit golf shots from paddock to paddock once his chores were completed.

He was a former Australian Rules football player before turning to pro golf in 1992, and he played in Australia before coming to the United States in 1995.

Currently ranked 12th on the World Ranking List, his swing is one of the best in the game. Stuart has six PGA TOUR victories from 1997 to 2005, as well as two nationwide tour victories in 1995, the NIKE Monterrey Open and the NIKE Sonoma County Open. He has two victories in his home of Australia, the 1998 Coolum Classic and the 2001 Holden Australian Open. Stuart also won the 1999 CVS Charity Classic in conjunction with Jeff Sluman.

During the 2004 PGA TOUR he entered 25 tournaments, placed in the money in 18, and made 5 top ten finishes. It was also the second consecutive season that Stuart finished in the top twenty on the PGA TOUR money list (third time overall).

His 2005 season opening victory at the Mercedes Championships against one of the strongest fields of the year proved that "Apples" has something to prove this year. Not only is his game one of the best, but his personality shines through as well.
